Events

From time to time, I  organize special events.  Some are listed below.  If you have an interest in an event, shoot me an email and I'll let you know if I have any of those events happening now or coming up soon.  Some are free, some aren't.

30 Days To Better Fitness

  • Do you want to work on getting fitter, but don't have anyone to work out with?
  • Do you already have a program you like to do (like videos, calisthenics, running, etc.), but you need some accountability to make sure you do it?
  • Would you like to be able to brag about your successes and get support during your failures with people who are in the same boat and working toward the same goals?

Come hang out with us!  You'll make your pledge of what you promise to do to improve your fitness in the next 30 days, you can make a fitness diary there if you want it, and there's weekly reporting of how well you stayed on track.  Nobody chews you out if you fail, but you might get a loving kick in the butt to keep on going.  For sure you'll find plenty of encouragement and support.

30 Day To Better Fitness is a free event that is ongoing and people can pop in or out as they desire.  Since it's a free event, I won't be designing your diet or your workout regimen, but I'll be there with the others for moral support.  I'll provide some limited, general free advice during the 30 days, but if you need more help than that perhaps you want to sign up for some one-on-one training.

Click here to go to the Wholy One Forums and start your 30 Days To Better Fitness.  It's never too late to start.  Jump in any time!  You'll need to register at the forum and send me an email of introduction if you're not someone I know already or if I won't recognize your username.  That way I'll know you're not a spammer lol.

Again, 30 Days To Better Fitness is a free event.

Tag

|... knock, knock, knock... ding-dong... knock, knock, knock ...|

Us= "Hi, can you come out?"

You= "Huh?"

Us= "Can you play?  We're gonna play tag.  Can you come out?"

Check this... and you don't even have to ask your mom anymore!  Is that cool or what?

Okay... we won't really come to your house to get you - you'll have to show up in order to play.

I like to organize regular games of tag.  Part of the reason we're not as fit as we were when we were kids is because we don't do the things we used to do as kids.  For example, we don't run around for no reason anymore.  In fact, we don't run at all if we can help it.  The older we get, the less we do (even if we swear we're every bit as active as we always were).  We don't take the stairs if there's an elevator or escalator.  We don't skip when we can walk.  We don't walk when we can drive or ride.  We don't ride bikes every day after work or stay out past dark playing tag or skateboard or roller skate or play baseball, dodge ball, basketball, volleyball.  We don't even play tetherball or four-square.  We don't use our best bracelets (the one Mom told us to never take off) as a marker in hop scotch.  We don't spin around on the bars or try to do a cherry drop.  We don't spin around and around at night and then lay in the street so we can see it look like the telephone pole is going to fall on us.  We don't even throw tan bark at each other anymore.  WTF?

NOW we play tag again, but to keep it fair, only people 40 and up can play.  If there are lots of under-40's that want to play, I'll start an under-40 tag group.  The point of the age requirement is to keep it fun enough that people want to play on a regular basis.  If a 49 year old is chased down like nothing by an over-zealous 20 year old, the game quickly isn't fun anymore.  The point of playing tag is to have fun running around for basically no reason.  So come on... we can run around, scream, laugh, and argue over the rules - just like when we were kids.  Soooo... can you come out?  Huh?  Huh?

Tag is a free event.

Liver Flush

On liver flush weekends, everyone participating does a liver flush at their own house, but can participate with other flushers online and via phone.  I'm available all night in case anyone gets scared or is worried about how their first flush is going to be.  The liver flush events are free to participate in online, but if you want all-night phone support for the event (meaning I'll be available all night by phone if you get worried or scared or can't sleep, etc.) then the fee is $25.
