Just say no to gastric bypass!

This nation is famous for creating fat citizens and then making a fortune off getting them slim again, then letting them yo-yo back and forth, always coming up with the next great effortless pill, magic (effortless) diet, even an organization for fat acceptance (read death acceptance).

Nowadays they have Carnie Wilson on infomercials hawking Gastric Bypass.  Please, please, please... if you are considering this permanent surgery, do all your homework and look at everything with a critical eye... EVERYTHING.  Even what I say.  Look at it, pick it apart, ask questions, get answers until you are totally satisfied you can live with this your whole life no matter what.  You can't take it back.  Gastric Bypass is forever and it will force lifestyle changes upon you that if not adhered to you will face larger problems than you had in the first place.

GIVE ME A TRY FIRST!

Though never morbidly obese myself, I have had morbidly obese family members and friends my whole life.  I've seen their suffering, felt their embarrassment, cried with them, listened to their fears... and loved them.  I've been close to their pain and have seen the heartaches and humiliations of being this obese.  I know you want a permanent solution.  I know you want a quick solution.  I know you want to love yourself.  I know you want other people to love you and admire you.  I know you want so many other things that you believe are only available to thin people.

BUT... *please* check out all your options before committing to physical changes of this magnitude.

Give me a try first.  Try my way before you consider this permanently altering surgery.  If you succeed on my program, or any other good program, you will have changed yourself in ways that will benefit you your whole life.  If you have surgery, you will indeed be changed... but you will also be special needs as long as you live.

The first step in getting better is feeling better today.
